Mane Society Hair Check: Month 3

It's been three months since I started the no heat challenge. No doubt, it was difficult in the beginning. Not knowing what I was going to do with all this curly hair on my head and being tempted to straighten it was a struggle, but I have overcome. Through trial and error I really learned what worked best for me and my hair which made life SO much easier. That trial and error stage is probably the most difficult but the most important. Really finding techniques and products that work best for you is key! Get on YouTube and watch as many videos as you can. Find gurus who have similar hair types and textures as you. One of my favorite YouTube gurus is SunKissAlba. Her hair type is very close to mine and her hair care tips work great with my hair.

For me, deep conditioning and replacing shampooing with cowashing has done my hair wonders. Shampoo's strip your hair of its natural oils and nutrients. I use Pantene Natural Co Wash 1-2 times a week. If you feel the need to use a shampoo, use products that are sulfate free such as Organix or certain L'oreal lines.  I also deep condition with Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack once a week. I have really noticed an improvement in my curl pattern as well as the overall health of my hair by sticking with these two implementations.

The journey for me continues...

What have you doing to achieve healthier hair?
